U.S. Navy eyes pairing laser with machine gun

The U.S. Navy plans to pair a laser with an existing ship-based machine gun to better protect its vessels from attacks by small boats. BAE Systems and Boeing have teamed up to develop and build a prototype for the Navy. Get more details here.
